College Credit Plus Orientation
Welcome to The University of Akron and congratulations on being admitted to the College Credit Plus (CCP) program! Whether joining us on campus for classes or participating from a distance, we are excited that you are joining the UA family. Your CCP orientation is all about making sure you know the ins and outs of the CCP program and how to make the most of your experience at UA.

STEP 1
CONFIRM YOUR ENROLLMENT

- Have a question? Call Admissions at 330-972-7100, text us at 330-574-7727, or write us at admissions@uakron.edu.
STEP 2
LOG INTO YOUR MY AKRON ACCOUNT & CHECK YOUR EMAIL REGULARLY
- Use your UANet ID (your initials, followed by a number) and password to log into your My Akron account.
- Password issues? Send us a quick message at nso@uakron.edu, and please include your full name and birthdate for assistance.
- UA will use this email address to communicate important information to you, including information about course registration, placement testing, orientation, and other events.
STEP 3
RECEIVE YOUR CCP ORIENTATION INFORMATION VIA EMAIL
- This email contains two important dates: your CCP Orientation date and your CCP Course Registration date.
- CCP Orientation is when you will spend a half-day with us on campus preparing for your new role as a college student
- CCP Course Registration is when you will register for your courses with your academic advisor
- Spring orientation information will be emailed in mid-November and then regularly thereafter.
- Summer/Fall 2022 orientation information will be emailed in March and then regularly thereafter throughout the summer.
- Can’t attend on one or both of your reserved dates? No problem! Reschedule here.
STEP 4
COMPLETE YOUR PLACEMENT TESTS (IF REQUIRED)
- You will receive a placement testing email letting you know if you need to complete a math test, reading/writing test, both, or if you do not need to complete any tests.
- Placement tests should be completed at least one week prior to class registration.

STEP 5
COMPLETE YOUR CCP ORIENTATION
- See a sample student schedule to prepare for your day
- Wear comfortable walking shoes – we will be out and about on campus
- Dress in layers to ensure comfortability in hot or cold buildings
STEP 6
COMPLETE YOUR COURSE REGISTRATION WITH YOUR ADVISOR
- Prior to your CCP course registration date, you will receive communication from your academic advisor through your UA email with your specific appointment time.
- You will not schedule your classes or meet with your advisor at your orientation program – this is meeting is when you complete those steps!
- Because of this, it’s important to review the new student class registration process before your orientation date.
STEP 7
UPLOAD YOUR ZIP CARD PICTURE
- Zip Card instructions will be sent to your UA email after you enroll in classes.
- Email zipcard@uakron.edu with any issues.
