I/O Graduate Student Club
Current President: Madison Schaefer (email: mms359@uakron.edu)
Brief Description: The I/O Graduate Student Club provides opportunities for students in the I/O department to develop professional peer relationships, share ideas, work, and research, as well as spend time with faculty, alumni, and fellow grad students outside of the daily academic grind. Members participate in a variety of activities including inter-departmental social gatherings (e.g., happy hours and pot lucks), community service opportunities, university fundraisers, alumni events and workshops.
Club Involvement: The I/O Graduate Student Club is run by the students and for the students. All member meetings typically take place once a semester, with the additional time commitment varying depending on how involved students choose to be.
Benefits of Membership (to list a few): Being sponsored for SIOP registration fees by I/O club, free business cards for SIOP networking and job searching, extra-curricular involvement for your CV/Resume (yes, this is still important beyond your undergraduate career!), leadership experience as an officer and/or committee member, opportunities to attend luncheons with I/O club-sponsored speakers.
