Biography

Dr. Waehler, who received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University in 1989, is Board Certified in Counseling Psychology and formerly held the title of Associate Professor at the University of Akron. His orientation in psychodynamic personality theory becomes applied in his mulitheoretical approach to research and teaching in personality assessment, psychodiagnostics, the counseling process, and adult development. He taught and supervised a section of the advanced psychotherapy practicum as well as psychopathology and personality theories. Results of his research have been published in two books and in journals such as Journal of Personality Assessment, Journal of Counseling Psychology, Psychotherapy, The Counseling Psychologist, and the Journal of Counseling and Development.
