Stephen R. Cook Receives 2009 Outstanding Professor of the Year Award
Akron, Ohio, May 21, 2009 - Professor Stephen R. Cook received the 2009 Outstanding Professor of the Year Award at The University of Akron School of Law 2009 commencement ceremony. Each year, members of the law school's graduating class nominate professors for the Outstanding Professor of the Year Award. The class then selects from among the top nominees and presents the award at the law school's commencement ceremony. -

Ohio State Bar Honors Professor J. Dean Carro
Akron, Ohio, Friday, May 15, 2009 - The Ohio State Bar Association's (OSBA) Legal Education Committee honored Professor J. Dean Carro of Akron Law as the recipient of the 2009 OSBA Legal Education Committee Award. This award is given to an outstanding legal education professional who has contributed to Ohio law and the Ohio bar. The award was presented Thursday evening at the OSBA Annual Meeting in Cleveland. -

Congresswoman Betty Sutton to Speak at Akron Law Commencement on May 17
Akron, Ohio, May 11, 2009 - The University of Akron School of Law will confer approximately 150 Juris Doctor degrees at its 85th Commencement Ceremony at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall. U.S. Rep. Betty Sutton (D-OH), an Akron Law alumna, will deliver the commencement address to graduates. Sutton is a 1990 graduate of the law school. -
