Summer Institute for International Students

Held on The University’s main campus in metropolitan Akron, the Summer Institute for International Students is an

academic program that offers you:

  • A 360-degree US college experience
  • A survey of college disciplines
  • A week-long technology camp
  • A historic and cultural tour to the East Coast
  • Local excursions and university visits
  • Daily interaction with American students

You will learn about different academic disciplines, career prospects, and cutting-edge research in lectures,

demonstrations, workshops, labs, and field trips. You will work directly with university faculty to develop products

to become an influencer in today’s digital world. You will visit government buildings, historic sites, and world-

famous universities on local excursions and a tour to the east coast with visits to New York City, Philadelphia, and

Washington D.C. You will learn and have fun – all with participating American students and counselors. Expect this

to be a lasting experience that brings new perspectives and opportunities to you.

Application

  1. Complete required forms

    2. INFORMED CONSENT, RELEASE AND MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION FOR A MINOR form
    3. MEDICAL INFORMATION AND AUTHORIZATION TO DISPENSE MEDICATION form
  2. Pay registration fee (50 USD; non-refundable)
  3. Wait for ELI to issue letter of participation to participants
  4. Pay tuition and fees with proofs of US visa (if applicable), airplane tickets, and international travel insurance
  5. Wait for ELI to email with detailed instructions for arrival and departure
